I Don't Need No Stinking Balance!!

Balance?!? I don't need no stinking balance!!
I know that many common psycho-mantras make reference to this notion of balance. Balance, we are informed, shall trump intensity, chaos, and dys-synchrony. After all, only once balance sets in can individuals or collectives establish predictability, organization, and moderation.
Now, these notions of moderation, organization, predictability, and thusly balance are values that weave in and out of our individual scatteredness. These ideas remind us that we seek the peace and comforts that we idealize will come from an ultimate organizing principle.
Yet, big bangs abound. And tipping points follow.
Supernovas, financial crashes, orgasms, strokes, tempers, and on and on and on. KABANG!!! Shall we hope to reduce and minimize all this intensity by 'living' a flat line, or do we re-vision just what balance must mean?
Hell, I don't know. I do know that personally, I try allow myself the life experience of surfing whatever it is that life throws my way. When the water is big, it is exhilirating. When the waters are still, it is regenerating.
What, then, is this thing we call balance?
