Where Else Do People Blog?
June 1st 2007 16:51
I recently read that someone is leaving Orble to move on into the blogging sunrise. It got me to thinking about blogging migration patterns, what stimulates such, and just where else do writers share their wares.
WHERE ELSE MIGHT Y'ALL BE FOUND?
And, if you are on another site, what does it have to offer for you that you do not find here? I ask these questions because I have become extremely interested in the role of blogging, individually, socially, and for business purposes.
Is it, for instance, possible and/or realistic to become a professional blogger? And, what the heck does a professional blogger do to quaolify as a professional?

I've had a look at a number of Blogsites ... I'm yet to find one that has a layout as good as Orble's to display my own writing, or to access others' writings.
Many of the other Blogsites appear to be dating websites disguised as Blogsites, whereas Orble's focus is definitely on reading and writing.
If I wanted a dating website? I know where they are. But you have to be prepared to meet women who are ten years older than their pics and at least 40kgs heavier.
As to what makes a Blogger professional? I think it's like prostitution. A hooker is a pro because she gets paid for what she does, not how good she is at it. So I guess if you can earn money out of Blogging that makes you a professional.

Like in the music industry it seems to be all about a fan base more than talent.
Still if there is away to make money doing what I do here I would like to know.

D.Armenta, i can't get that song out of my head now and it repeats like a mantra... and now i'm thinking 'please don't go' by KC and the Sunshine Band..
I love pipe dreams .. that was funny Damo...
I like Orble and the interaction between bloggers (some of it makes for better reading than the latest celebrity goss)..
just thought i'd chuck my two tic tacs in... you know, why did the wodchuck chuck wood and all that..
this is where i would write 'i'm in a weird mood' but i'm not gonna do that...
