Why Would Life Be So Difficult?

March 19th 2007 16:37
I often wonder if the difficulty that life often presents is manufactured either individually or collectively by we humans. You know, we beings and entities that have the capacity for abstract thought. How much time, for instance, do you spend fretting and pining and worrying about this, that, or the other thing?

Perhaps the question of simplicity versus complexity comes to the fore. We, with our abstract thinking, have created some extremely complex tangible, intangible, physical, emotional, social, and even spiritual structures.

Not simple stuff. Perhaps a significant piece of the Stress Of Life.

Personally, I find myself resenting from time to time that some problem-solving venture I am involved with is perhaps interesting, likely stimulating, and absolutely distanced from my true connection to the nature that drives my existential bottom line.

Is not this, then, investing energy into something that truly matters not?

Admittedly, I speak and write from a default-base that is quite grounded in being lazy and expending as little energy as is needed for any particular endeavor or pursuit. Does this mean that I do not value 'stuff'? Maybe not enough to move me beyond such questions as I pose here.

Paradoxical, all this. What say you?

I am definitely guilty of this Deorre, but I cannot help the questions and analysis of things... I think that this leads to problems in itself...

YES!

thought-provoking.........

It is thought-provoking, isn't it Ash. Paradoxical in that the thinking sometimes is what gets us into trouble. Perhaps I am guilty of the very thing I point to.

Unfortunately, I think it's in some people's nature to worry about things...

I'm not a worrier, but I do get angry easily...

I wonder if to get overly angry or anxious is part of an expression of being out of context and alignment with nature.

I think that a lot of the difficulty is self-made. I'm not a natural worrier. I usually figure it'll work itself out. I'm a simple kind of gal........okay, I'll be honest....I'm actually too lazy to stress about stuff and make things more complex than they need to be!!

I can be lazy like that too, KylieW. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise.
