My Dog Does Not Hold Grudges

November 14th 2006 12:35
Puck is a Corgi, and he smiles often. Even when he is not able to eat horse feces or go for a walk or chase the cat all over the place, he smiles.

If I forget to feed him and he eats an hour or so late, he just flows with it. If he doesn't get a walk or run for a day or two, he is so 'in the moment' that he seems cool with it.

He just does not seem to hold grudges or carry resentment.

DOES THAT MEAN HE WOULD BE A BAD HUMAN?

My dog does hold grudges. When the other dog stole her bone and her arthritic legs didn't let her catch him, she waited until the weather changed and her arthritis eased. Then she cornered him behind the quince, drooled on his head and neck, and rolled him around in the mulch. She's always careful not to hurt anyone. She just went for maximum humiliation.

My dog holds grudges. But so do I, at least until I forget, which is sometimes pretty quickly. Perhaps our dogs are reflections of us. In that case, you are a very good person, Deorre.

After further observation, Puck does hold disappointment for a little while. It doesn't seem to move into anger. And, the attention span is brief.

Thanks for the comment.

I don't think that would make him a bad human, although I can see where this would cause problems for him, if he were human. People like passion, and a person version of Puck would seem lacking in that department.

My Corgi is glefully passionate. Just not angry and, er...hot.

I believe that Puck would be a great human. We need more people who just roll with the punches and don't get all uptight and aggressive the minute things don't go their way.

Puck would be my kind of human I think.

Puck, the human would be a pleasant yet persistent little guy. A guy, at least, until his testicles were removed. He doesn't even seem to begrudge that!

I guess as long as Puck didn't want to continue his fascination with eating horse poo as a human he could do OK.
We could do with a few more smiling people in this world. : )

Puck even smiles while eating the fece of the horse! And he makes so many people smile just by smiling at them.
