What I Do Today Moves Me Into Tomorrow
November 20th 2006 12:51
"My mind is source of connection between my attention and my intention, and I know that what I do today will move me into my tomorrow."
We can choose to focus our minds on whatever we want, with some exceptions. Many people choose to go mindless, and not focus on anything of substance. This is not a bad thing nor is it a good thing.
It is just a thing.
It is important to know, though, that what we do today is what moves us into tomorrow. What molds and sculpts our tomorrow. Attention to the details of today have impact on our intentions for tomorrow.
So, if one remains carefree and mindless, then they may simply be trusting that the world will guide and provide all that they need. And tomorrow will truly be a mystery. Nature, though, abhors a vacuum. So, if in our mindlessness, a void is created, then it will be filled in with things beyond our control.
Mindfulness about what is important and valued, today, will guide our attention to those important things. And if we are filling up our day with attention to what we value, this is going to have constructive impact on where we are going. A bit of stewardship, if you will.
My mind is source of conncetion between my attention and my intention, and what I do today will lead me into my tomorrow.

I think a classic anti-statement of your post title would be found in the movie "Ground-hog Day" - classic wisdom, thanks.
It brings to mind a saying on my wall here in the office..
Is The
Tomorrow
You Worried
About
Yesterday...
