Sex Is Good!!

November 1st 2006 16:51
Sex is good, yes? Whether it is all about the pleasure principle and thusly perpetuation of the species, or for enhancing the emotional bonds that tie, sex is good.

Though sex, physically and emotionally, can be an integral component of an overall stress management program, I will not go on about that here. I will speak of quite the opposite.

When an individual feels that sex--performance, how often, etc...--is a measure of his or her worth as a human, this then becomes a problem. Yet another way our minds take us far beyond the bounds of a creativity that can be constructive.

An individual must be honest with self when determining if sex has been given an unrealistic place on the pedestal of self-worth. To use this problematic pedestal, to make this unfortunate move, is to disallow the ultimate pleasure and stress relief that healthy sexual relations may permit.

What a tragedy, yes? To twist sexual experience into an activity that is no longer engaged for the pleasure with which it has forever been infused.

Go out and sex if you will. But please, enjoy it.

Rules, rashes, & ego. Yes, we can wrap our abstracting brains around the most pure of nature bsased activities.

Very nicely done. I know a few people who used sex a tool, measuring their worth. The mentality I have seen the most is "I want this person's approval, I want them to think highly of me... therefore, despite whatever relationship I am in I will have sex with this person too" just to gain some temporary (and in most cases- false)sense of care or need.

Then there are others who have lost all desire because they feel like they are in a rut and can not recapture the feeling of their own sexuality simply because they themselves have a diminished sense of self worth.

Sex is a powerful thing... it can be used as a weapon of the brutal and shamefully painful kind OR it can be used as an act in a sensual bonding of a sacred love.

Good job on this piece, it is a subject that has many views and is often abused.

Just a quick thought.

Sad when sex becomes a tool rather than a mahvelous experience.

Very powerful piece!

The thing is it's ironic that people think sex will gain someone's approval when more often than not it acheives the opposite. When used in that context, anyway!

Giving sex a purpose' beyond what it actually is can bring some unfortunate and surprising results.

Why not just do it, enjoy it, and feel the bond, I say?

hi deorre
in reading your postings I think you are very nice fellow with a kind spirit. I like what you wrote to the blog with the american flag concerning the elections. Mine was the first comment as anonymous. We in Australia can't get over the fact that Americans think they are the ants pants
eg they have got it all together, they save the world etc,

Hi Deorre,

...about this sex thing... I think it's a bit overrated sometimes and aren't you just sick to death of having it shoved in your face each day, like drug peddlers.... D, sweetie...

I've modified all that was here because I posts that information on my own 'An Ordinary Life' site...

What I've done though is link people back here to this post and blogg for your advice...

hope you don't mind...?

Well Lilla, thanks so much. I would like to link to several blogs also. Haven't yet figured that out. I will though, I'm sure.

I read our posts too. In fact, I'm on my way to an ordinary life now.

Oh, and yes, it seems sex has been degraded to a bit of a commodity.

D,

you see that little symbol in the top right hand corner of the comments screen, with a blue globe and chain link on it... you press that, then you put the web-e-dress in that you want to connect to and where it says YOUR TEXT HERE you add what you want to call it... I always change the colour of that YOUR TEXT HERE wordage... so people catch on that there is a link provided...

Good Luck with it my friend...

L ..
