Sometimes when I hear voices
they say the strangest things.
No grumbling or unhappy noises
Just love, hope, and understanding...
No persecution, shame, or collusion
No empty words that sting
Sometimes when I hear voices

I wonder why they're sad
I look into their eyes for traces
of something they once had...
A little touch of wonder
It surely can't be bad

I'm glad I read the comments before commenting... as I was about to comment that I really liked the simplicity of this poem and thought the simplicity of the message would really be carried well in a song... I was going to ask if you'd tried to put it to music? *lol* I would have been preaching to the choir, now wouldn't I?
I would love to hear it in melodic form ...
Perhaps you could provide guitar chords and I could try it for myself?
