"War Fatigue"

July 13th 2007 13:10
"War fatigue." Such a tidy, sanitary, and objective phrase. And, how easy it flows out of the mouth of the "commander in chief" Bush.

That war fatigue will get you every time. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and the first thing I think of is my war fatigue. When I call it that, I don't have to think about lies and death and conspiracy and failing democracy and scandal.

War fatigue.

Many of the addicts I work with like to use nice words that help them minimize their difficult reality. Often these words function as further enablers to prevent the face to face experience of distress. Words are nice that way.

I sure hope Bush doesn't suffer too much with his 'War fatigue'.

Think of a national leader as a person who knows that they have a chance tobe in the history books.

Carl Marx once wrote that history only remember the very bad or the very good. Progressives or Reactionaries. Bla Bla bla.

The bottom line is every national leader want to be the progressive 'good guy' in the history books. Their enemies are the 'Reactionary Bad Guys'.

Slip up and see what happens?
When was last time you met some one with the name Adolf, Judas or Stalin?

So even it war goes into a oozy mess the leader will fight tooth and nail to get his quotes and his speeches in the history books and somehow resue his image.

Battle fatigue never happens when you are completely ruthless.

Driven by narcissistic grandiosity is what I hear you saying, Damo. That can become an extremely dangerous thing if legacy becomes soooo important.

Bush has many fatigues. The most notable is 'thinking' fatigue. It wearies him to have to do so much thinking. He should ask help from Dan Quayle.
