How Much Can One Person Take?!?!?!

January 8th 2007 17:54
Where does your stress come from?

Politics? Finances? Family? Job? Internal biochemistry? Lack of identity? Social standing? Legal issues? Medical calamity? Psycho-social erosion? Lack of understanding? Existential relevance? Disconnect from nature? Religion? Religious persecution? A dirty house? The price of gasoline? Time? Space?

We all have our triggers, and I have listed many of them here. You may very well have something to add. What is of primary importance, though, is that each individual become aware of what it is that pokes away at the capacity to enjoy life.

Only then, I suggest, will it be possible to attend to issues and increase a sense of joy and empowerment.

Deorre,
You, like no one else, post according to my life, I think. lol May I give a list of my problems in the two months or so? It's short but mighty.

Transmission, radiator and motor replaced in van.
Transmission went out in the Jimmy
Microwave, DVD player, can opener, dryer, and oven door all stopped working.
Sickness all through my family. I have been sick for eight days, my husband 15 and my son had one emergency trip to the hospital.
Death in family just before Christmas, which left a niece and nephew motherless.
A problem with my phone line or modem one
Taking full time classes for the first time, I am a full time employee and mother of four, wife to one.

What stresses me? When is something major going to go wrong? I stress over the thought that something will happen to one of my children or my husband.

The stuff I listed? Cake. *smile* It's just the truth of my life right now, and I couldn't be happier about that. I told you recently that I wanted to learn to savor the moment. I am doing that.

Great post,
Voices~

Good points, Voices. All those extremely pesky things are all basically remoinders that we are actively alive in the world. I understand the stress that comes from worrying of misfortune hapening to loved ones. The problem is when that takes away from the wonderful time with them.
