If I Knew Then What I Know Now

May 6th 2007 12:27
So much wisdom collected as the years amass. That's a nice way of saying, "the good thing about becoming an old fart is that experience may lead to wisdom."

When I was young I truly believed, for instance, that the world revolved around me. It was not a conscious thought. Just something expressed in my actions. I definitely thought I had so much to say that others would rather listen to me than have me listen to them.

I have since learned that I get much farther, in business, socially, and in relationship, if I listen more than I speak. Such a simple concept. So many years to learn.

I know there is great wisdom in the lives of bloggers. Come ye oldsters, and not-so-oldsters,

WHAT DO YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOU WISH YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN THEN?

Deorre,

I know that youth is wasted on the young... and school too...

Like you I have come to realise why the ratio of two ears to one mouth is the way it is... *chuckle* as for all the other wonders of my 20/20 hindsight?

Well, I just can't seem to remember them... they must have become wisdumb after all...

great post!

Lilla ...

I feel like there are a bunch of things in the past that now I would know what not to do, but I don't know if I would be able to avoid those mistakes and I might also not know what to do instead.

before i answer this question is there a cut off point as to when one can give a response to the query posed? because i am still young, in university but feel that i have acquired said experience in life to reflect, but paradoxically still am wet behind the ears in other circumstances.

..I wish I had known human nature better back then, but that only comes when self-absorption goes away!!

Great post.
